Permanent Nail Removal
Nail surgery is a permanent solution for those who constantly suffer with ingrown toenails. Ingrown toenails can be genetic, but can also be caused by environmental factors. If you frequently have painful, infected ingrown toenails, permanent nail removal may be your best option.
At SW Podiatry & Health Clinic, a Podiatrist will carry out a small surgical procedure under local anaesthetic. We remove the offending nail and dress the toenail, provide you with a care package, and also assess your recovery in followup review appointments.
Procedure
The procedure is carried out in a calm, clinical setting during a one-hour appointment, under local anaesthetic, so you're comfortable throughout. Depending on your needs, we can remove part of the nail or the entire nail, and apply a chemical called phenol to the nail bed to prevent regrowth — offering a long-term or permanent solution.
